I made this layout for the Scrapfreak DT call but didn't make the final two so here it is. I had to make a layout that is my style in any theme that I wanted so I went with my clean and simple layout with heartfelt journaling. I think I should have went cutesy and embellished more and maybe it would have made a difference. Who Knows. I know it is the luck of the draw when applying but getting turned down twice in a row sucks. Lets see what happens the 3rd time...

You are still the same friendly, caring and funny girl you have always been. You have two jobs and love to shop more than anyone I know. I used Kraft and White Bazzill, Basic Grey and October Afternoon PP, lace, bling and the flowers are tissue paper that has been Glimmer Misted Vanilla. Letters are by Jillibean Soup.

There are somedays that I still can not believe that I am a mom of an 18 year old daughter, 17 year old daughter and a youngest daughter who will be 15 this year. Things like the 8th grade dance snaps me back to reality and reminds me that they are not babies anymore and before I know it they will be grown and gone. Time honestly flies too fast and the older that I get...the faster it goes.

I took this photo of Samantha Friday night and I realized exactly how grown she was when I had them developed. She reminds me of my mom in pictures that I have seen of her when she was younger and she makes me feel old more so than my other two daughters.

I made this layout for the a Guest Design Team spot for Scrapfreak. You had to create a layout and use fabric somehow and sew on the layout. I went a little overboard. The photo of my stitches are my proof of me actually sewing since I used white thread and to show the world my horrible sewing ability :)

I used a red fabric for the background mounted on a 12x12 chipboard piece. I sewed the butterfly material to the red and backed it with white cardstock so it would stand out. I used a deep red and black Bazzill from my stash, distressing ink in Black Soot, Bling, a die cut, lace, and the flower/leaf by Maddie & Rose (Stacey Michals) from the "Sew Cute" embellishment kit. Letters are by Pink Paislee in Licorice.

Happiness Is....

This week the prompt for Who's That Girl is "Happiness is..." and we were to finish it in a way of something that makes us happy. Pretty simple really. It could be serious, silly, something now or something in the future.



Journaling reads: Happiness to me is a walk on the beach, seeing a rainbow after the storm, receiving flowers for no reason, a hug on a long day and most of all...spending time with my husband and girls. 2010

I used White and Cupcake Bazzill, Pebbles So Tweet "Chirp" PP (green) and Basic Grey Romani "Migration" PP, Satin Ribbon, Bling, Heidi Swapp Bling Photo Corner, and a Bazzill Just the Edge White Scallop. The letters are AC Thickers in Lax Glitter. The pen is by Zig in Evergreen.

Back in the Saddle....(i think)

I did it.

I sat down for the first time in a few weeks and worked on a layout for something other than my WTG layouts. It felt good and it came together rather easily. I knew what I wanted as soon as I saw the sketch. I tried something new too!

I was doing my normal blog snooping and saw that the June Guest Design Team Challenge was up on Sketchy Thursdays. No, I don't expect to win but it was the kick in the butt I needed to get back to my table and take some time for me.

Amber took this self portrait of the both of them when she stole my Nikon and went around the house taking pics of random things. I have to say she is getting really good at this because the only thing that I did to this photo was print it in sepia at CVS.

I spiral cut the center of this flower and mounted it on 2 round pop dots. I also inked the entire spiral to give it more effect.




This was the first time that I made Lollipop Flowers. They aren't hard to make but I just wasn't sure of them but let me tell you if you haven't made them...they are easy and a great way to use up some scraps! I admit that I had to look at Helen Croft's Scrap-a-Little blog for the Lollipop Tutorial.

I didn't journal on this layout because I think the subtitle says all that there needs to be said.

I used Sandbox Swiss Dot Bazzill, White Cardstock, Autumn Leaves Mod Astricky PP, KI Memories Die Cut paper, Doodlebug Rub-On Stitches in White, Pop Dots, Gold Gel Pen to outline the inside of the die cut paper, Colorbox Cat's Eye Chalk in Lavender, Yellow Citrus and Lime Pastel. I used Misc Ribbon and PP from my stash. The flower centers are Misc Bling and from ScrapFreaks Spring Fling April Embellishment Kit that is a Prima Dynasty Peridot flower center. The letters are MM Shimmer Sticker Letters in Brown and Adorn It Tiny Letters.

The week...

I just wanted to post some pics of this week. You know what they say...a post with no pics just isn't post worthy so I will make it up for the last post.



This is Timothy. My youngest daughter has been asking for a turtle for a few years and finally we decided that she could get one. So we got her a Red Eared Slider. Timothy we have now found out is a girl. So from now on we will call her Timmi.



This is how I felt earlier in the week. Monday and Tuesday were sick days that required me laying on the couch all day or move to the bed. I finally ended up going to the dr. and now I am better. Wierd sickness...nauseous all the time. Oh course during this time...I had to fight for my space from the dog couch/bed hogs.



I decided that I would bring my oldest dog Cosmo back to work with me this afternoon so he could get out of the house. This is him looking for my daughter while she was in the store.



His spot on my desk. He is not a floor dog ;) He is on the lookout for people walking by. He might get some attention.



He is over it already. By this time...he had been here about 15 mins.

I will be back this weekend with something scrappy (don't faint). I am playing along with My Sketch World. They are doing something I have never seen done before.

Yep, Its true

It's official....It's gone....If you have found my mojo - its mine, please return it. You can't keep it.

Its amazing honestly. I am not sure what is wrong with me. I have shopped, "window shopped" online and in person, stalked blogs that I have never been too and this even includes mfg blogs, cleaned out my bookmarks on the main computer and my laptop as well as the files on both, went through my stash of embellishments, put my Bazzill and PP in order by color or design, went through the galleries at both Scrapbook.com and Two Peas and nothing. Absolutely Nothing. I have NEVER been like this and I don't like it one bit. Why can't I scrap-maybe I am on scrapbook overload.

4 Random Things
1. I really want to read these two books: The Postmistress by Sarah Blake and Getting the Pretty Back by Molly Ringwald.

2. I want to take the girls to see Letters to Juliet here within the next few weeks. I can not wait to see my "wish I had friends like them" girls in Sex in the City 2...the girls won't be going with me to see this one. Samantha Jones has sealed that deal for them.

3. I have a hair appointment set up because of my whole stuck in a rut kind of 'do and not to mention my newest crop of gray's that are popping up at record speed. I probably wouldn't have noticed except they were pointed at to me by a guy at work. Its hard to see them when you don't really look at yourself in the mirror - only to brush my hair and teeth. I am thinking somewhere along the lines of this cut and I am going to get some hi-lights and low-lights to cover the gray.

4. I still fantasize what my wedding would have been like had we done it the way that we wanted instead of conforming to what others thought we needed. Its been 4 years and we are older...we should have done it the way that we wanted. I don't regret marrying him at all and I never have but I do regret that we didn't do it our way. One day I will post about my wedding dreams and wishes. I am guilty of still looking at ideas. No I don't plan because that would just be weird but I do look at what is new and out there for the new brides.
