Catching up...

I can't believe its been 2 weeks since I last updated my blog. I have never went this far before and I have lots to share with you! In case you are wondering about my absence...my daughter had driver's ed every night for the past 2.5 weeks and it was get home, eat, take her to driver's ed, come home and work on scrappy things or get ready for the next day, pick her up from driver's ed and then back home, look at the clock thinking it wasn't so late and next thing you knew it was almost 11pm...every night. So I am proud to say that I have a driver's ed student who passed the class with a 100!!! But on the other hand, it makes me feel old to say that I have 2 daughters who are old enough to drive with 1 who is not far behind them.

Get comfy because I have a lot of layouts to share and they are in alphabetical order this time. For the sake of a super long post, I am not going to post like I normally do...if you have a question of what was used on the layouts - please leave a comment and I will be glad to tell you what was used.

Happy Valentines!

This week I have been far from scrappy. I did a few things but for the most part - my scrap room was out of commission. I did a major cleaning, purging, re-organizing and got things ready for my Valentines present that will be finished today! Robbie is making me a peg board (finally) that can hold all my packages and hopefully clear up some space in my totes. Its a small one (24x30) and he is framing it and then turning the ribbon holder he built for me into a hanging shelf. Oh I can't wait!.

I did manage to finish my layout last night for The Everyday Scrapper. This week was a special week because Mia Clarke who is on the sketch design team with me did this sketch herself :)



Cosmo


This is my oldest dog - Cosmo. He is 12 now and he is my "little buddy" - you see me and you see him. He is my shadow. He knows when I am sick because he will lay right where I hurt the most, his fur caught many a tear since I have had him, he keeps his lips shut when he is told a secret and he is honestly really smart. He knows if "Cosmo" is said he is in trouble for something and if "Mo" is said that everything is happy go lucky. I can't imagine my life without him being there. That is a day that I hope comes in the far far future.

For this layout I used a mix of manufacturers. I used Kraft, Yukon and Leapfrog Bazzill, Graphic 45, SEI, and Heidi Grace PP scraps, Ink, and a brad. The letters are by Pink Paislee.

Valentine Friday - the work edition

Today is the day we exchanged our Valentines for a "Secret Valentine" Here are some of the Valentines things.

I drew Betsy. We call her "Re Run" or "Wetsy". She worked here a few years back and has came back hence the "Re Run" and "Wetsy" because it rhymes. Betsy begs me for carrot cake for some reason so I made her a carrot cake in a bundt shape and I made her a clothespin.





I used a large clothes pin, black paint, misc felt paper and bling.


The bag that I brought it in:


I used a Black Hallmark lunch bag, red heart doily from Hobby Lobby, Bling and letters by Chatterbox. I also misted the bag with Vanilla Glimmer Mist.

For my "ex daytime husband" - the guy that I work with who jokes that I am his "daytime wife" who "broke up" with me last week - I got him a Valentine. His favorite is Rolo's.



I have added a "we" and crossed off the ' to the Valentine so that it reads: "Valentine, we were perfect together"

I used misc PP and ribbon. I secured the ends with glue dots.

She sings L-O-V-E and the little piece in the middle lights up when she sings. She is too cute.

Chatty Scrappers

A few years back I made my 1st DT with a site that is no longer around and when the DT was disbanded to go their own way - a few of the girls got together and formed Chatty Scrappers with the help of a few of their friends so that no one lost touch with anyone. I have been on many scrapbook sites and I have to say that even though I don't go as often as I should...Chatty Scrappers is like a family (but in a good way lol!) - loving and caring but mostly non-drama filled pure fun and you can keep up with them.

This past weekend they had a Fill'er Up Crop. They were celebrating the switch from the old gallery to the new gallery and they posted some great challenges! I didn't get to play along as much as I would have liked but I did get 2 of the 20 challenges done but I did make a list of what I would like to finish up.

Journaling reads: Your 1st vehicle - a '93 Chevy S10 that we found at a deal we couldn't pass up. You first saw her when she was brought over for Robbie to look at the air conditioner and you were instantly in love with the "little truck". So when Robbie's friend found a newer truck, we jumped to buy this one for you. She may be old to us but she is new to you. Enjoy!

I used Powder Bazzill, a Moxxie Die Cut, Cherry Art His and Hers PP, Zig Pen to journal and outline, and MM Brads. AC Thickers - both in Black Fabric.

Journaling reads: This year more so than in the past - I am ready for spring now. I want to say a final "goodbye" to gray and gloom only to say "hello color"

Sketchy Thursdays

Diana is on the DT with me for Who's That Girl. She runs a sketch site named Sketchy Thursdays. There is a new sketch put up every Thursday and then other challenges along the way. I have played along a few times but its been a while.

This was the 1st time ever that I cut a piece of my Jenni Bowlin shaped paper. I felt horrible about it, guilty almost - I think the hoarder in me wanted to even cry!

I used Kraft Bazzill, Jenni Bowlin Red Cream Vintage Paper, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Raven, Maya Road Chipboard Ric Rac, Robin's Nest Dew Drops, and Black Acrylic Paint. Letters are Black Fabric Thickers.

Super Bowl Sunday

Nope, I am not a follower of football...at all. The extent of my football knowledge is Payton is cuter than Ely and for the sake of listening to the same story over and over or listening to "who dat" 12 million times on Monday and Tuesday from the girl in the office from Louisiana...may the Colts win.

I have been very scrappy these past few days but I am going to reveal my layouts over the next few days! How mean is that? :)

Up today I have my layout from The Everyday Scrapper that is based on a sketch by Bo Bunny.



6oz. Port




This past year in Greece at the Ren Fest, I was parched. So I decided that I could go for some Port and it was yummy - I am just not so sure that it was $6.50 yummy for a little cup.

I used Black Bazzill, Scenic Route Garden Grove "Joy Street" and "Hope Street", Maya Road journal spot, gel pen, and black ink. Letters are Thickers in gray foam.

Daily Journal - Tuesday addition

Here I am a day behind.

Outside my window – Grey skies, drizzling, 60ish degrees and some what okay.

I am thinking – That since it is only Tuesday...it going to be a slow week.

I am thankful for – my health, my girls, my husband and my job.

I am wearing - jeans, lime green polo, tennis shoes and a pony tail...story of my wardrobe.

I am remembering – that I forgot to take something out of dinner this morning. I honestly forgot to take something out.

I am going – to "suggest" that we go out to eat tonight.

I am currently reading - "The Best of Everything" by Rona Jaffe. Its a story about 4 woman in New York back in the 50's with the struggles that they go though making it. It was actually written in 1958 and some of the struggles are what we go through today and some of the things they do...people in the 50's didn't do that - KWIM? I recommend this book to everyone :)

I am hoping – that during Lent this year, I stick to my goal and I see some results.

On my mind – things that I need to do here at work and at home. I can see my next DT layout in my mind.

Noticing that – my work pile just keeps growing no matter how much I work on making it go down still.

Pondering – what this weekend is going to be like. We are going somewhere that we have only been once but never stopped.

From the Kitchen – a cold stove...

Around the house – I need to remember to put the Netflix in the mailbox.
