Sassy Lil Inspiration Challenge

In April it was my "job" to provide the Inspiration for the board from the 16th to the 30th. I decided to try and increase the amount of traffic to the thread and the board by offering up a challenge.

In order to participate and see the challenge you need to be a member of Sassy Lil Sketches forum.

This is what I came up with:
My challenge for you is to take a look at what I have posted from April 16th to April 30th. This is the link to the forum

Find 5 different inspirational items and apply them to your layout or if you chose to do cards you will need to make 4 cards that are different in design but can have the same 5 elements to qualify. You can mix and match from the finds posted but I need to know which finds you are using in your design. If you chose to make a kit from your scrapbook supplies before you put together your layout or cards...I need a pic of your "kit" before you start.

This challenge will run from Saturday 4/30/11 to Saturday 5/7/11 at midnight CST.

For all those who enter, you will be entered into a drawing for 1 of 2 prizes. Layout/Card winners will have their first choice of "Door #1" or "Door #2" both of which are valued at $15-$20 each.

The 2nd part of my challenge is to promote Sassy Lil' Sketches to all your in real life friends and family who are scrappers as well as your friends on other sites. In order to be qualified for this part of the challenge, you will need to leave a comment on my 5/2/11 blog post with a link to where you are linking up SLS to attract possible new members. If you get someone to join SLS and participate using at 1 of Cherie's sketches from the blog and posting at least 10 times, have them to leave a comment on my blog that they came because of you and I will put your name in the hat again.

Now for the specifics...You are eligible to enter to win one (1) time with your layout/cards. You are eligible to enter multiple times on the 2nd part of the challenge. All Sassy members are eligible to play along...International girls are very welcome to play along just like everyone else. The most important thing is to have fun, play fair, jump in with both feet and take chances! Lets go girls!!!

Holding Out...Part 3

As I come to my last 3 layouts...I am still amazed that I scrapped so much. I think that a lot of it had to do with I made page kits for each layout and it was at my fingertips and it just went together without me having to think about it at the time.

Hopefully I will get to scrap this weekend but we will see. Prom season is upon us.

Journaling reads: The one thing that you asked for from us and we couldn't say "no" because you rarely ask for anything. So off we went to Zumies to pick up your new deck - a couple of old people in the teenage store in the mall. We picked up the last one they in stock and headed home to wrap it...only to realize that if we wrap it like it was it would be a dead giveaway to you so I ended up altering a box for it to fit in only to find out I needed a lot of padding - So your dad decided it would be funny to pack your old board on top. The look on your face!

This is a layout that I wasn't sure if I was going to do or not. The photo has been sitting in my origami box on my table that holds my smaller pictures since last summer when they were still friends. Amber walked in while I was scrapping it and immediately said "oh God mom!"

It seems the last two weekends, I have found some time and the energy to do some scrapping and I didn't realize until today exactly how much I have done. In fact...there are enough layouts that I am going to have to split them up so my post isn't long.

Never a "dull" moment



Journaling reads: Never afraid of a chance to make a fool of herself she is always the goofy, funny girl in the crowd. You can expect to be in tears from laughing so hard at her. Age 15. (Just in case, the 1st photo is her at Wal-Mart riding Pumba (yee-haw) and the 2nd is her taken at school in Biology with her hair making a mustache hence the "I mustache you a question")

This next layout is what seemed to spark my new interest in scrapping. I was surfing a couple of Friday afternoons ago and I ran across a challenge blog but for the life of me I can't remember what it is now but they featured a lot of Page Maps sketches. I picked a few and thought to myself...I can do this. Just sit at the table, block everyone out, turn on the club music - because my scrapping happens between 7 and 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights so I listen to The Baka Boyz, Tony Styles, and DJ Penetrate.

This layout is a little out of my element because of all the details and it was pretty hard since it was my 1st layout "back". I think though that it turned out pretty good considering it was the 1st layout "just because" since November 2010.

Why is it ALWAYS mine!



Journaling reads: This was taken at Spring Creek Park after your meet. It amazes me that you are such a goof ball and that you are so carefree. (Yes, she is swinging out over the water in her track uniform and tennis shoes)
